Katrina loved these two old married folks. They were still in love with each other after many, many long years.

There are always repairs needed on the playground equipment at the La Palma Christian School. The photo shows that it gets used to the maximum!

This elderly lady up in the mountains loved to read but could not because of her eyesight. Melvin made her a pair of reading glasses and she started reading --did not want to quit. What a blessing for her and her family!

The overcrowding and lack of privacy were a little shocking to me.

Other items needed include adult sock caps-lightweight, and loose-fitting tops.

Some other items needed at the nursing home are sweat pants or other loose fitting pants, button up sweaters and long sleeved tops, underwear, and lots and lots of adult diapers.

The most requested items for the nursing home that we can help with are Crocs and socks! The Crocs do not need to be name brand--just crocs. The socks need to be medium to heavy. If groups would like to collect crocs and socks, we will work to get them shipped there.

This lady at the nursing home likes to listen to classical music. One of her favorites was playing when this photo was taken.

This lady at the nursing home I visited sang a love song to Napo. She was a happy lady who wandered around just looking for attention.

Melvin only needs a table and a chair to set up his glasses shop. During the few days we were there he made and fitted about 80 pairs of reading glasses. That definitely changed the lives of some people who now can read or thread their sewing needles or do other tasks that require good eyesight.

This young lady is unsure about her new cap! The people there want their babies to have some sort of cap on their heads, and many were happy to get new ones.

The ladies from Shongaloo, LA brought dozens of caps for the children. Some were made of old T-shirts and other material, and some were knitted. Here a young fellow models his new headgear.

On has to wonder what experiences this lady has had in her lifetime. She came to the medical clinic and is being discussed by the nurses. I bet she would love to tell some stories about her childhood.

The kids at this location were able to have a lot of fun using pieces of cardboard as sleds and sliding down a hill! No batteries or irritating noises are associated with these toys - just fun!

Please remember to pray for the La Palma church frequently. It has some serious problems. A brother wanted to have his own way and has caused a lot of trouble. He has lied numerous times abour various things and people. He stole money from the church treasury. He sued the church through the labor department for wages he did not earn. He has caused a tremendous amount of division. I met with the preachers from La Palma and San Ignacio and encouraged them to unite against this evil, and to do as the children of Israel were to do: "purge the evil from among you". They are working together now against the evil one. God is greater than any man, so implore God to help the church be strong. Ralph

Katrina and Juanita enjoy a break during a lull in activities at El Gramal. These two hard working ladies are from Louisiana and were a terrific addition to the team.

Here is the clinic set up at El Gramal in a very nice facility. The nurses are working to the right of the photo and Giovanni is preaching to the people waiting to be seen.

Our team just before we boarded the bus to leave La Palma.

This great lady has earned the respect and admiration of everyone who has worked with her. This is Hiliana, a great nurse with a compassionate heart. She is not a typical worker for the health system because she goes far above and beyond what is required of her in her work. She knows all of the people in her assigned areas and is a talented and personable lady. She has guided our work in La Palma to help the ones who need it most.
May God bless her always.

Our team is all home except for one member who volunteered for a bump in Houston. It has been a great trip.

Linda petted a calf--but was careful about it.
We finished our last day together and discussed how our experiences will affect our lives when we get home.
We are to leave the hotel by bus tomorrow morning for home. It has been a great experience for all of us.

We had another great day yesterday. We really got 'high'. The first school we went to was at 7600 feet above sea level. It was a school facility with one classroom, one office building, some outdoor bathrooms, and a kitchen. There are about 25 student there K-6. Our team led the children in some songs for fun, gave them vitamins and parasite pills, and some clothing and toys.

We then went to another smaller school, but did not actually go to the building. It is a 10 minute walk from the road, and we had the kids come to us. Again, gave out parasite pills and vitamins and clothing and toys.

Then took a detour to El Pital, highest point in El Salvador, at 8700 feet above sea level. There is an awesome view from there! Oh, it was a gravel road that was bumpy and we were in the back of a large truck! So, coming back down the mountain we gave clothing and candy and toys to the kids walking along the road. There was a lot of laughing all during the trip, and we were tired last night. We had been blessed to serve our Lord and we prayed that our work was a blessing to the people.

We are well and healthy and will be doing last-minute stuff today to get ready for the trip home tomorrow.
